This campsite is in the BWCA so you need a permit to camp here. Small campsite with two tent pads. The fireplace configuration was rather minimalistic at time of last visit. Really good shoreline access.

Big Lake Campsite 1
A large tabular rock platform makes for a nice landing zone at this campsite. This is the only campsite on Big Lake that is in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Thus, you need to be in possession of a BWCA permit to camp here (or even stand here). View direction is to the south across the small, shallow bay on which this campsite is situated.

Big Lake Campsite 2
You'll find this campsite to have meager accommodations compared to the other campsites on Big Lake. Since this site is in the BWCA, there are no picnic tables here. The fire pit is not as built up as other campsites on the lake.

Another look at the kitchen and the view toward the southeast.

Big Lake Campsite 4
One of two obvious tent pads at this campsite.

Here is the other one.

The latrine will be waiting for you.

Big Lake Campsite 7
Peering to the north/northeast. Big Lake Wilderness Lodge is just around that point visible to the left (which is actually and island), about 1/2 mile away.
