BWCA Canoe Routes

I am adding the canoe and portage route that was used when these areas were visited to collect information for this website. Most of these visits involved a nice loop or led to primitive management area (PMA's).

Below are some suggested BWCA canoe routes starting with entry point lake:

Fast Route to a Primitive Management Area
Out and back route to the Drag Lake Primitive Management Area
Lake One > Lake Two > Rifle Lake > Bridge Lake > Drag Lake PMA

Fourtown Lake Base Camp Route
A quick route out to Fourtown Lake. The valley between Mudro Lake and Fourtown Lake where the portage is has many bald eagles during the spring.
Mudro Lake > Fourtown Lake

The Round Lake Loop
This is a nice three or four day loop. Has big lakes and small lakes. Some lakes have lake trout. Missing Link Lake even has brook trout. There are a couple of long portages to help leave the crowds behind and give you a workout.
Round Lake > West Round Lake > Edith Lake > Brant Lake > Gotter Lake > Flying Lake > Green Lake > Bat Lake > Gillis Lake > Crooked Lake > Owl Lake > Tuscarora Lake > Missing Link Lake > Round Lake Loop
