Portaging Direction: From Homer Lake to Whack Lake

Homer Lake to Whack Lake Portage 1
Start of the short portage to Whack Lake. A small stream flows into Homer Lake just right of center beyond the canoe. This little stream floods the portage sometimes near the Whack Lake end of this portage, if the beavers have been busy.

Very short portage with a sometimes rocky and mushy tread. A short balancing act is required as you get to Whack Lake, as the trail is often flooded there.

Homer Lake to Whack Lake Portage 2
Whack Lake end of the portage. A mini beaver dam on the right.

Homer Lake to Whack Lake Portage 3
Hard to see in the image, but the trail is flooded just beyond the far end of the canoe. There is a rock hop across that section. Small beaver dam can be see to the left behind the canoe.

The portage is flat, sometimes flooded near Whack Lake and a tad rocky in places.

Homer Lake to Whack Lake Portage 4
The channel leading out into Homer Lake. Landing is rocky and the water is a little muddy. Water is not that deep.
