The Unmaintained Portage between Lum Lake and Skipper Lake

Portaging Direction: From Skipper Lake to Lum Lake (didn't make it all the way)

Skipper Lake to Poplar Lake Portage 1
Start of the unmaintained portage to Lum Lake. The trail is not clear (as of 2023), so a bit of bushwhacking will be required near the middle of the portage to make it through. The location of this portage is almost directly across the lake from the only campsite on Skipper Lake. It is in the back of the small bay. Look for that big log to mark it.

The above video covers about 60% of the distance to Lum Lake. There are some large cedar trees growing along this portage. The portage is relatively flat and straight. Some logs to crawl over. The trail is fairly easy to follow until you reach a spot near the end of the video. At that point, the trail disappears into a thicket of brush and downed branches.

Beat a hasty retreat back to: SKIPPER LAKE
