The Portage between Brule Lake and Lily Lake

Portaging Direction: From Brule Lake to Lily Lake

Brule Lake to Lily Lake Portage 1
A firm landing on the Brule Lake side of this portage. There is a short uphill slope at the start.

This is a heavily used portage. Other than the brief climb at the beginning, the rest of the trail is mostly level. The remains of a dock (or possibly some other sort of heavy wooden structure) in the shallows at each end of the portage.

Brule Lake to Lily Lake Portage 2
Landing at Lily Lake has some large boulders, but water is not at all deep and the lake bottom is solid.

Now that you've made it over the portage, visit: LILY LAKE

Portaging Direction: From Lily Lake to Brule Lake

Brule Lake to Lily Lake Portage 3
A look at the landing on the Lily Lake end of the portage. Those logs you see in the water are the remains of a past structure dating back to at least the 1960's.

A mostly flat portage trail. The path drops the last few feet as you approach Brule Lake.

Brule Lake to Lily Lake Portage 4
The landing is better at this end. Looking south at a small bay. This is the bay just west of North Bay on the map.

Now that you've made it over the portage, visit: BRULE LAKE
