The Portage between Crocodile Lake and East Bearskin Lake

Portaging Direction: From East Bearskin Lake to Crocodile Lake

Rock minefield to wiggle through to get to this portage.

Going in this direction, you gain most of the altitude right at the beginning. In total, you will climb 97 feet along this portage. Once up the hill, the trail is in good condition and rather flat for the rest of the hike. Due to the steepness and length of the hill, consider the portage to be rugged in this direction.

Quite the solid landing at Crocodile Lake. Didn't see any crocs either.

Portaging Direction: From Crocodile Lake to East Bearskin Lake

The landing approach on Crocodile Lake presents no issues at all.

This portage starts out level. As you near East Bearskin Lake, the trail descends quickly the the shoreline. Portage is much easier going in this direction.

Lots of boulders and large stones at this end of the portage. Fortunately water is fairly shallow.
