The Portage between Meeds Lake and Swallow Lake

Portaging Direction: From Meeds Lake to Swallow Lake

Meeds Lake to Swallow Lake Portage 1
Lots of rocks as you can see, but the water is not deep and the lake bottom is solid if standing in the water.

Mild incline as you leave Meeds Lake. The path is relatively level the rest of the way to Swallow Lake. By mid-summer, this portage can get a bit overgrown and brushy.

Meeds Lake to Swallow Lake Portage 2
Sand and small rocks make for a great landing zone at Swallow Lake.

Portaging Direction: From Swallow Lake to Meeds Lake

Meeds Lake to Swallow Lake Portage 3
Great boat landing.

This portage is pretty straightforward. The trail can get obscured somewhat by plant growth during mid to late summer as it is not heavily traveled.

Meeds Lake to Swallow Lake Portage 4
The landing on the Meeds end isn't as sweet as the Swallow Lake side, but it's still very manageable.

Now that you've made it over the portage, visit: MEEDS LAKE
