SOUTH CONE LAKE CAMPSITE: Campsite 1: (#2020) - Only campsite on the lake and its located on the west shoreline
On old maps, you'll sometimes see this lake called Lower Cone Lake.
Logging operations occurred in this area from 1929 to 1931. A large forest fire, the Great Depression and heart rot in the large white pines in the area brought an early end to these operations.
The flowage of water through this lake is from Middle Cone Lake south into Brule Lake.
